Vendel sword WIP

Vendel / Viking inspired sword hilt.

So, I have been making this sword for the last months. Still a long way to go, but it´s slowly starting to look like something. I don´t do historical replicas but you can see the historical influences in my work. This handle is clearly inspired from the Vendel era before the start of the Viking age in Scandinavia. The blade will be more medieval in it´s expressions but I will make sure I smack enough Vendel details on it to match the hilt and handle. In the end it will be a 2015 André-Andersson-era sword:)

I´ll get back to you with more pictures in the future.
